02/15/2006 - Martin Luther King Plaza

Part of the South Duke Street Revitalization Project, the goal for this project was to create a memorial for Martin Luther King Jr. in the Great Southeast. The monument is located outside the San Juan Batista Catholic Church.

The South Duke Street Corridor is unique in the City of Lancaster due to the varied mix of residential and commercial properties. The neighborhood has a unique balance of institutional facilities, recreational facilities, and commercial and residential properties.
